Business Soitec licenses IP to TSMC

Soitec, the SOI wafer producer, has licensed back-side illumination (BSI) IP for image sensors to TSMC.

BSI enables small-pixel image sensors.

“We look forward to continuing to leverage our IP portfolio by providing our partners with access to our technologies,” says Paul Boudre, Soitec COO (pictured).

Soitec’s IP portfolio contains nearly 3,000 patents. The BSI technology uses some of the process steps of Soitec’s smart stacking technology.
